Are you a King’s Kid?

Did you know that you are a child of the King? What King? What greater King can there be than the God of the Universe? Each one of us has been created in His image. We may not feel like it. The world and the many adverse experiences we may have had in our lives often make us feel damaged and unworthy.
The good news is each one of us can come to the throne of grace and receive rebirth from God for the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross. What better time of year to contemplate on this than Christmastime, the celebration of Jesus’ birth. He came to earth and lived as a man, a sinless man at that. He knows all our hardships and the difficulty of living in a sinful world and not falling into it. What a humble example to us to come into the world so helpless, as a baby, and go through all the struggle of growing up into an adult experiencing all that we do. I love that. He could have come down suddenly as a man and skipped all that, but He didn’t.
To be a king’s kid, you just have to ask. I think we all know just how far we miss the mark. I think we all have done things we regret and wish we hadn’t. To have the ability to come to the throne of grace and just ask Jesus to forgive us and accept the forgiveness He accomplished on the cross is so gracious, powerful and life changing.
We get to have a “rebirth”! We get to have a “do over”. We experience something that is hard to explain. But you will know, that you know, that you know, that you are changed now. You are a King’s Kid! And now you have access to all the food in the refrigerator. Now you have at your disposal all the tools for living a renewed life. There is no greater joy! There is no greater joy than to walk through this fallen world with the God of the Universe by your side.
This Christmas contemplate on that. If you don’t already know the King, considering asking. You will receive no greater gift!
