January is 'National Sanctity of Human Life'
On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22nd as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day, noting it was the 11th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion in all 50 states.
January 2024 will commemorate the 40th year our nation has observed the sanctity of human life. However, the need to pray for a culture of life in our community and our nation is still vitally important. Abortion, especially chemical abortion, continue to occur – even in our state where abortion is an available reproductive health option through the 23rd week of pregnancy, and after that time, in certain cases when the health of the pregnant mother is in danger. Both medication and in-clinic procedures abortions continue to be legal and available in Pennsylvania.
Each January, churches across the country commit themselves to observing the sanctity of human life while praying for our nation and the pro-life movement and this year churches across the country will celebrate together on January 21, 2024.
JOIN US for our annual "Prayer with a Purpose"
We have set aside Thursday, January 18, to honor the sanctity of human life. Our three locations (Coatesville, West Chester, and Kennett Square) will be open 9 am-2 pm and 6pm. We will set aside each hour to pray in and around our locations and we invite you to join us throughout the day. We will also gather as a large group at 6pm at all locations.
We encourage church groups and organizations to take time out of their day to visit us, take a tour of our facilities, and pray. We will have coffee and snacks, too!
If you are unable to join us on January 18, we encourage you to take advantage of our church/organization promotional resources to honor the sanctity of human life on Sunday, January 21. If you are interested in these free resources, you can easily fill out the form below or contact Stacey at stacey@ccconnectcare.org.
We know that one of the best ways we can protect unborn lives is by bringing into the light the darkness of abortion. Together we can TAKE A STAND and bring attention to the sanctity of all human life.
"The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name." - Isaiah 49:1
